Dr. Karissa Rasmussen, D.C
Chiropractor
Dr. Karissa Rasmussen, a native of Salina, KS, started on her path to becoming a Chiropractor her senior year of high school after interning with local chiropractors for a medical internship class. She had received Chiropractic care her whole life, but never considered it a possible career option. For Dr. Rasmussen and her family, going to the chiropractor was like going to the dentist or the eye doctor. It was just something you did! It did not take long for Dr. Rasmussen to realize that chiropractic care was the ideal path for her vision of providing conservative and preventative health care.
She attended Hutchinson Community College where she earned her Associates Degree in Pre-Chiropractic. She served as a student ambassador for Hutchinson Community College during her time in Hutchinson. She continued on to Cleveland University-Kansas City where she graduated cum laude with a concurrent Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic.
During her education journey, Dr. Rasmussen studied extensively and has been mentored by many top rated Chiropractors. Her passion for travel and healthcare through chiropractic allowed her the opportunity to travel around the country to learn from the very best. She continues to grow her skills and makes it a priority to always provide the most effective treatment yielding the best results.
Dr. Rasmussen has experience as a preceptor in a hospital-based chiropractic office in Overland Park, KS. She was also selected for externships where she served the Kansas City communities at KC Care Clinics, Duchesne Clinic, and Saint Vincent’s Clinic. Dr. Rasmussen also attended Parker University in Dallas, TX where she received her certification in Animal Chiropractic. She is currently working on obtaining her American Veterinary Chiropractic Association certification.
Dr. Rasmussen has advanced training in Extremity Adjusting Techniques, Myofascial Release, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Animal Chiropractic, Webster Technique, and Injury Rehabilitation. Her approach to treatment is customized to each individual patient to better reach their specific needs and goals.
Through chiropractic care, Dr. Rasmussen is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their health goals by addressing the root cause, treating the problem at its source, and achieving optimum long-term wellness.
Dr. Rasmussen is happily married to her high school sweetheart, Matthew; and they have 2 Australian Shepherds, Saber & Nali. In her spare time she enjoys exploring all that her home of Kansas City has to offer, going to Saturday morning farmers markets, and traveling as often as she can. She’s definitely a kid at heart!
